Seeking Safety Implementation

Seeking Safety "Therapy Seeking Safety is a present-focused, evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral treatment for PTSD and/or substance abuse" I like to also included that it is "Skills" and Present Focused Behavioral Treatment for PTSD and/or Substance abuse. For an example of how treatment will be implemented : http://alrest.org/ppts/Paula%20Seeking%20Safety.pdf

Please note that Paula's review of Seeking Safety on the part of "Naming" the trauma is different that the author of "Seeking Safety" view point as Lisa Najavits talks about in DVD 1.  Lisa Najavits believes it is okay for the client to name the trauma only not to talk about in depth or detail while in group so not to trigger another client.  As "Seeking Safety" strives to keep everyone safe and so the idea is not to trigger anyone by talking in detail about their trauma.  It is okay to give a brief one liner or short phrase like "I suffered from battle injuries" or "I suffered from child abuse" or I was a victim of domestic violence", but no graphic details.
